| Job Description: Volunteer with the Giant Panda in China is a wonderful experience. The Giant Panda is one of the most endangered animals in the world. With our program you can help in the conservation work of the Giant Panda by volunteering at the Bifengxia Panda Base in China! It is a unique chance to cuddle the giant pandas, not only watch them in the zoo. With the recent Sichuan earthquake - a very popular travel destination was badly damaged and removed from the tourist route - The Wolong Panda Center. Because of this disaster the majority of the Pandas at Wolong needed to be re-homed - so they were transported to the Bi Feng Xia center near Ya'an - a city that's just over a 100 motorway kilometers from Chengdu. Bi Feng Xia panda base has been selected as China's latest giant panda protection base, it has a new role to play in altering the destiny of the endangered species. Pandas will be returned to nature after they have been given relevant training in simulated wild environments. There are 69 pandas living in this base by March 2009 and including 11 baby pandas. The volunteer works are: - Clean the Panda's enclosures and the gardens - Prepare food such as bamboo for the pandas - Help the scientists to collect the behavior data - Help with the administration | ||
