Mick Davies - General Manager
Mick Davies
Mick has been with MSU for over 15 years and has been involved with the student movement for over 18 years. The General Manager’s job is to handle the business side of the union and make sure it confirms to all current legalisation. They also so act as principal adviser, constitutional guardian and all round best friend to the sabbatical officers. Over the years Mick has achieved many things for MSU most notably when he successfully defended the Union in a court battle that could have seen the end of MSU. Before returning to the UK to study for his degree, Mick worked in satellite TV, and night club management in Florida,he also worked in sales and retail development and is an experienced sound engineer He also had a minor chart hit in the 80s with his band The Switch.He is married with 3 children and lives in Ivybridge.
Gill Pollard
Gill is the unions longest serving staff member, taking up the post almost 20 years ago as a temp for 10 weeks - loved it so much just stayed! Her role is to manage the large and diverse amount of admin the union produces, whilst also helping to provide many of the services to students - Membership Services. Gill's office is situated at the bottom of the stairs which lead to the SUB, the office is also home to Tracey the admin assistant. Gill has two grown up daughters and lives in Plymouth with her husband.
Tracey Brenen
Tracey has worked at MSU for 6 years. She is admin clerk within the Membership Services Office and works with Gill Pollard the Admin Manager. Her job is to assist with the huge amount of administration generated by the union and Sports Federation. When not at work she spends her time looking after her 2 teenage boys and husband.
Kevin Traynor
Kevin
Although technically a college employee, Kev spends his days working in the Student Union Office. He is the real backbone and muscle of the union and with Mick works hard at staging the unions many events and also responsible for maintaining, designing and running this website. Kev Is an ex Submariner who has spent much of his life in a tin can under water. Kev is the man to see if your interested in working for the union as a DJ or a door steward.
