President

Hey Freshers of the future! I’m Robert Heath, I’m your Student Union President and the leader of the team that will make sure that this year at Marjon is like no other. I’ve just finished three amazing years at the Mighty Marjon studying Outdoor Adventure and Sports Development. Now I have the best job in the world, I get to take charge and create a union that both you guys and the current students can and will be proud of.

With this in mind I will be looking to you to contribute feedback so every event is an improvement on the last. I’m not as scary as I look and don’t let the good looks and dashing smile stop you from keeping me on my toes. I’m your president and this is your Union. Say it how it is.
This summer Benson and I have been repeatedly making love on the desk in the hope that this will bring us closer together and create a strong team dynamic...lol just joking. We’ve got Freshers Fortnight planned and ready to go, which in itself is awesome because unlike other Unis, Marjon goes that one step further to provide a whole other week. We’re hardcore and don’t you forget it! We’ve also been preparing ‘bonding days’ (and yes it is as dodgy as it sounds) for Union officers and senior resident students to ensure that you guys are always kept in the loop.
As far as the rest of the year goes, we are holding meetings with our officers to further improve the Marjon experience. After the £20million investment into the university, the union needs to keep up and I reckon that we can go beyond the expectations that Marjon already has for its Union.
I am most looking forward to everyone coming to Marjon and realising that this Uni stands above others. Not just because of our own Plymouthian culture but because we have our own community that I can’t wait to get started again.
If I were to give any advice to the new Freshers this year it would be to wear fancy dress, join a sports team or society if you can and make friends whenever possible. Also, don’t forget to say hi when you see me. I never forget a face... well... as long as you catch me at the start of the night.

Lots of love and kisses
Heathy xxx
