Hey Guys!
Firstly welcome to Marjon, I’m Zak Liddell; your student union President for the next year, a year which I guarantee will be the best of your life! President and Deputy are full time jobs; we have both Graduated and now work to make you guys happy. Our job in the Student Union is not only to make sure you enjoy yourselves with different events throughout the year, but we are also here to help you with questions, concerns and troubles you may be having. If you want something changed then come to us! The university doesn’t exist without students so if you guys aren’t happy with something then it needs to change and we are the guys to do it for you. Basically it’s all about YOU! You guys have so much power and influence through the Student Union so remember to come to us to get things done!
A little bit about me... This will be my 5th and final year at Marjon. I was on the MUST team in my 2nd year, Entertainments Officer in my 3rd year, Graduated with a Degree in English Lit. and was lucky enough to be elected as Deputy President for the last year and was re-elected into office as President for this year. Unfortunately we can only be Prez or Deputy for 2 years so I will have to leave at the end of this year. However this does mean that I am going to make sure I go out with a bang!
It all kicks off with Freshers Fortnight which is going to be epic! Freshers, when you first arrive you may find yourselves a bit overwhelmed with information, so don’t hesitate to ask us for help our office door is always open, but for now don’t worry about all that stuff, read through grapevine magazine and start getting excited for the year ahead! Marjon is a family which you are now part of, embrace it!
As for you returners we can’t wait to have you back and have an even better year than last year!

I think that’s about it, don’t be afraid to come say hi if you see me out and about, just be aware that if it’s during a night out there is no guarantee I’ll remember in the morning.
