Hi and welcome to Marjon! We are your new sabbatical officers for 09/10. We have been in our new roles for about a month now and everything is starting to come together for September. While you lot are out enjoying your summer, think of us here in the office working to prepare an amazing year ahead. We have started working already on all sorts of projects and campaigns and will be putting regular updates on here so keep an eye on the website, it’s well worth signing up as you can receive news flash’s and breaking news as it happens. We are continuing the Marjon tradition of having two weeks instead of one for fresher’s and it is looking pretty good at the moment. Final plans are still going on, but you can already buy a wild card fresher’s pass for only £30 if you follow this link : http://www.marjonsu.co.uk/ents/events/index.php?page=event&event_id=228095 We really would encourage any of you to get involved in the Union in some way or other, whether it be working for us as an officer, being on the MUST team (social team), writing for our brand new student union magazine the Grapevine, coming to events or joining one of our societies or clubs. It really does mean you will meet more people and get a lot more out of the Marjon experience! We will be here throughout the year for anything you need as a student. We are here to represent you. Please come in and see us anytime, we are easy to find in our new office next to the library. We have two nice comfy sofa’s that you can come and sit on and tell us all your worries, events you want to put on, strange quirky ideas for a new society, problems with coursework, or even to tell us what a good night or bad hangover you have... literally anything, we are your first port of call! Feel free to add us both on facebook, or join our Marjon Student Union group as well as Marjon Freshers 09/10 to meet people from your halls and course before you even arrive. We look forward to seeing you all in September. Look out for the fresher’s edition of the grapevine coming to a post-box near you soon!
