Well hello!

My name is Nikki Unwin and I am your deputy president for 2009/2010 and what a year it is going to be!

A little about me: I am a 21 year old original South London Lass and have just finished my 3 year Bed Primary Degree. During my time at Marjon, I have always tried to be actively involved from working behind the student union bars for the duration of my degree to supporting our sports teams during Varsity through cheering alongside Marjon’s very own Cobra’s cheerleading club. Moving into Marjon was only the 2^nd time I had ever visited Plymouth, and to be honest I was petrified, but what a great part of England to live, work and play. Where else can you have the city element with the moors one side and the beach on the other. Plus watch this space… this city chick is learning to surf (wish me luck).

My role as Deputy President involves speaking out for YOU the student and airing your views, concerns and opinions. This can be anything from accommodation, to social events, as well as appeals and complaints concerning your course content or marks you have received. Whether you are a fresher, international, mature or returning student please do not hesitate to pop into our Marjon Student Union Office, which is now the room passed the library (for returning students this is the first half of the 24 hour computer suit) to have a chat and a cuppa. Also for anyone who will be living in Coleridge halls of residence I will see you on moving day J!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 3 years at Marjon as a ‘student’ where I trained and just qualified (woo-hoo) as a primary school teacher and hope that I can help make your Marjon experience just as good as mine! Looking forward to seeing you in September!
